Herne Lodge – Steppes, Tasmania

A Luxury Hunting Lodge

Amid an untouched bush setting, Herne Lodge is an architect-designed purpose-built hunting lodge, where your every need has been considered to provide luxury, comfort and tranquillity. There are four guest rooms (two queen and two king/twin) – two with ensuites and two in a separate pod, which share a secluded bathroom and spa. It is a solar passive design and no expense has been spared to guarantee you a comfortable night’s rest. Fine bed linen, towels, and bathrobes add that bit of luxury to your stay.

We carefully select menus that use quality fresh seasonal produce to present luscious meals, served with fine wines. Hearty breakfasts and espresso coffee set you up for an energetic day’s stalking.

You can choose to relax at the lodge and read while sipping a fine single malt by a blazing fire or wander at your leisure across the plains or through the bush.

Tasmania’s premier fly fishing waters are in easy distance and the local town, Bothwell, boasts the oldest golf course in the southern hemisphere.

Hunting Ranch and Private Land

‘St Patricks Plains’ in the Central Highlands of Tasmania has been in our Ellis family for 100 years and is used as summer grazing, producing fine Merino wool.

To make full use of this highland wilderness property and the prevalence of healthy game populations, we decided to embark on this exciting game lodge venture. We are excited about being a part of a burgeoning industry in Tasmania and committed to a long-term involvement in it.
